Visiting Angels Gadsden shares Michele’s breast cancer story. Michele comes from a family that has a history with breast cancer. Her grandmothers, great aunts, and mother had breast cancer. Since Michele knew of her family history, she decided to go in for regular mammograms at the age of 30. A little bit later on, Michele also went in for ultrasound breast cancer screenings. In 2016, Michele was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.  

Once Michele found out she had breast cancer, she had to think of how she wanted to deal with it. Michele decided to go through with a double mastectomy after thinking things through and speaking with her doctors. The double mastectomy was successful and Michele is now breast cancer free.
